Scheduled Tribe Certificate Scrutiny Committee, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
A Scheduled Tribe Certificate Scrutiny Committee (STCSC) is a government body, a quasi-judicial body working under an enactment viz. "The Maharashtra Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, De-notified Tribe (Vimukta Jatis), Nomadic Tribes, Other Backward Classes And Special Backward Category (Regulation of Issuance and Verification of) Caste Certificate Act, 2000" and The The Maharashtra Scheduled Tribes (Regulation of Issuance and Verification of) Caste Certificate Rules, 2003" published there under. This committee verifies the genuineness of the claims of Scheduled Tribe (ST) claimants. It ensures that only eligible persons should get the reservation facilities which are meant for Scheleduled Tribe communities. The committee checks documents, conducts inquiries, and can reject or approve claims. If rejected, individuals can appeal towards Highcourt. Its primary aim is to prevent misuse of the system and ensure fair distribution of benefits. The jurisdiction of this committee is for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Parbhani and Dharashiv districts.
